This Sunday at 10:00 am
We cannot wait to see you again at Montclair Community Church.
We know that meeting in person is an essential part of our Christian faith (Hebrews 12:24-25). We are and will continue to take precautions, suggested by the CDC and NJ, to ensure we have a safe environment for all. You can read more about what to expect, our safety protocol, and other information below.
We are looking forward to seeing you soon!
Updated Covid-19 Mask Policy
Dear MCC Family,
In light of the low COVID transmission rate in our state, the recent executive order from Governor Murphy, and after much prayer and discussion, MCC will be updating our mask protocol effective June 13, 2021. I ask that you prayerfully review the below and keep in mind that we want everyone to be comfortable worshiping here and that we are always called to: "In humility count others more significant than yourselves" (Phil 2:3):
Beginning on June 13th, all MCC services will be mask-optional
We will continue to Livestream the Sunday worship service in the Vintage Room, and that room will be mask-required so those who may be uncomfortable in the Main Sanctuary can continue to worship in-person
We are asking everyone to be respectful of those who will continue to wear a mask and to maintain social distance or wear a mask when interacting with them in the Fellowship Hall or Main Sanctuary
If you have any questions, I ask that you reach out to me directly. As always, please pray for God’s will to be done, for unity, and for safety.
What will we do if someone tests positive with COVID-19 at MCC?
We will ask all those who are exposed to quarantine for 14 days from the time of their last exposure. Unless the person who was exposed has had covid-19 in the past 3 months, recovered, and has no Covid-19 symptoms. Then they do NOT need to quarantine.
Cleaning our building after a positive COVID-19 case: We will close off the area used by the person, open windows/doors to increase circulation, wait 24 hours before cleaning (to protect those cleaning), and clean and disinfect the areas used by the person. Once these areas have been cleaned, they can be opened for use again. If the area has been unoccupied for 7 days then additions cleaning is not necessary.
When can those who have tested positive for COVID-19 return to church?
If you had a positive covid-19 test and are asymptomatic you can return 10 days after your positive test.
However if you have tested positive for COVID-19 and are symptomatic you can return 10 days after symptoms first appeared, and you’ve gone 24 hours without a fever (without fever reducing medication) and other covid-19 symptoms are improving
When can those who were in close contact with someone who had COVID-19 return to church?
If you have been in close contact with someone who had COVID-19 we are asking that you do not return to Church for 14 days from time of last exposure. Unless the person who was exposed has had covid-19 in the past 3 months, recovered, and has no Covid-19 symptoms. Then they do NOT need to quarantine.
You can return to MCC sooner then 14 days if you receive a negative COVID-19 test at least five days after last contact with the COVID-19 positive person.
If someone was present at MCC within 48 hours of symptom onset or a positive Covid-19 test1 MCC will perform contact tracing and notify all those who were exposed. The CDC states that exposure is being within 6 feet of the infected person for 15 or more minutes and within 48 hours of symptom onset or a positive COVID-19 test. To get a full list of those exposed will rely heavily on the infected person to provide a list of people who may be exposed.
