We're Open

This Sunday at 10:00 am

We cannot wait to see you again at Montclair Community Church.

We know that meeting in person is an essential part of our Christian faith (Hebrews 12:24-25). We are and will continue to take precautions, suggested by the CDC and NJ, to ensure we have a safe environment for all. You can read more about what to expect, our safety protocol, and other information below.

We are looking forward to seeing you soon!

Those Exposed

We will ask all those who are exposed to quarantine for 14 days from the time of their last exposure[1]. Unless the person who was exposed has had covid-19 in the past 3 months, recovered, and has no Covid-19 symptoms. Then they do NOT need to quarantine.[2]

Cleaning

Cleaning our building after a positive COVID-19 case: We will close off the area used by the person, open windows/doors to increase circulation, wait 24 hours before cleaning (to protect those cleaning), and clean and disinfect the areas used by the person[1]. Once these areas have been cleaned, they can be opened for use again. If the area has been unoccupied for 7 days then additions cleaning is not necessary.[2]

When can those who have tested positive for COVID-19 return to church?

If you had a positive covid-19 test and are asymptomatic you can return 10 days after your positive test[1].

However if you have tested positive for COVID-19 and are symptomatic you can return 10 days after symptoms first appeared, and you’ve gone 24 hours without a fever (without fever reducing medication) and other covid-19 symptoms are improving [1]

When can those who were in close contact with someone who had COVID-19 return to church?

If you have been in close contact with someone who had COVID-19 we are asking that you do not return to Church for 14 days from time of last exposure[1]. Unless the person who was exposed has had covid-19 in the past 3 months, recovered, and has no Covid-19 symptoms. Then they do NOT need to quarantine.[2]

You can return to MCC sooner then 14 days if you receive a negative COVID-19 test at least five days after last contact with the COVID-19 positive person.

Contact Tracing

If someone was present at MCC within 48[1] hours of symptom onset[2] or a positive Covid-19 test1 MCC will perform contact tracing and notify all those who were exposed. The CDC states that exposure is being within 6 feet of the infected person for 15 or more minutes[3] and within 48 hours of symptom onset or a positive COVID-19 test[1]. To get a full list of those exposed will rely heavily on the infected person to provide a list of people who may be exposed[4].

What to Expect

Safety Protocol

Limited seating capacity

We are following New Jersey's guidelines for Churches. Which is a limit of 100 people or 25% of the rooms capacity. Following this guideline we will have 100 people in our main sanctuary along with an overflow room with space for 50 more. This allows us to follow social distancing protocols in both of our rooms.

Mask policy

We are asking that everyone who comes to our in-person service wear a mask for the entirety of our service. We will have masks at the door if you do not have a mask to wear.

Hand sanitizer

We have plenty of hand sanitizer to go around. Hand sanitizer will be stationed by all entrances and exits of the building.

Seating

We have roped off every other row and will be asking you to sit at least 2 seats, 6 feet, away from anyone else, excluding your family.

We ask that if you, or anyone in your family, is feeling sick or showing symptoms of COVID-19 please stay home and join us online

COVID-19 symptoms include but are not limited to fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea.

The following section outlines our plans and safety procedures. These were all taken from the latest CDC and NJ guidelines for reopening houses of worship. We will continue to monitor changes to the CDC and NJ guidelines and update our procedures accordingly.
