MCC is going camping! Who's in?
Time & Location
About The Event
Who: All are welcome (Min. age recommended for kids: 6 years)
Where: Lake Ocquittunk, Sun, May 17 thru 19
What: If this your first time camping, or if you're an old hat at it, come for one or both nights, or just for the day.
Why: To have a camping adventure with fun people
After a 1 hour 15 minute drive from 15 minute drive from MCC you will arrive at your campsites where we can park our cars and set up our tents, lawn chairs/games, and unpack. This is a perfect escape from a noise of the city, as there are no highways nearby. A few steps away is a small lake, perfect for canoeing/kayaking and fishing. There is also a gazebo located out on a small peninsula where you can relax and read a book. A small trout stream is on the premises where you can see anglers fishing and wading through the waters. There are many hiking trails, and Buttermilk Falls is just a 30 minute drive away. A grocery store is about 20 minutes away to purchase more food/drinks. At night, there will be campfires and s'mores , and with no light pollution, you will see millions of stars (including shooting stars) on a clear night. At night we'll store all food in our cars to keep bears/other wildlife away. There is required quiet time from 10am - 6am.
Each camp site includes a fire put with grill and picnic table. Bring your own food. (A list of recommendations will be supplied.) Sleeping bags are recommended (temps can dip to 50 at night). Drive in (for tents) will fit up to 6 people and cost $45. There are individual spots which will be fit in with a group. Individuals will cost $10.
